Ancient Pillar Justice

"Order isn't maintained by power alone. It also requires paperwork."

The Ancient Pillar Justice System governs the conduct of Dread-Bearers, Trip-Sitters, celestial personnel, infernal citizens, and other individuals operating under Ancient Pillar authority. While its purpose is to preserve cosmic balance, the system is equally concerned with accountability, procedure, and proper documentation.

Most violations are administrative.

A few reshape reality.

All of them generate paperwork.

Justice is administered jointly through the Solar Registry Commission (SRC), Solar Armory and Defense (SAD), and other Sovereign authorities depending on the severity of the offense.

Written Up

"Heroics don't exempt you from paperwork."

The most common disciplinary action in the Ancient Pillar system is the infamous Write-Up. Issued for procedural mistakes, poor judgment, unnecessary property damage, or conduct unbecoming of a cosmic employee, a Write-Up becomes part of the individual's permanent SRC record.

Common reasons include:

  • Excessive collateral resonance

  • Improper AP Weapon handling

  • Unauthorized riddle improvisation

  • Failure to complete mission reports

  • Summoning the wrong entity

  • Making SAC file extra paperwork

Multiple Write-Ups may result in formal review.

Nobody wants formal review.

The Discipline Scale

Violations are generally addressed through escalating levels of corrective action.

Some are embarrassing.

Some are permanent.

Imprisonment

"Contain the individual."

Those who present an immediate danger—but remain potentially redeemable—may be confined within secure Ancient Pillar facilities. These prisons are designed not simply to restrain bodies, but to stabilize dangerous Resonance conditions until they no longer threaten others.

The goal is correction...

...if possible.

Mandatory Retraining

"Please stop doing... whatever that was."

Some mistakes reveal gaps in judgment rather than malicious intent. Personnel may be reassigned for additional instruction, supervised missions, or remedial Resonance education before returning to active duty.

Repeat attendance is frowned upon.

Suspension

"Clock out."

Suspended personnel temporarily lose access to active missions, AP Weapon privileges, and certain Higher Life functions while investigations or disciplinary reviews are completed.

Most suspensions are temporary.

Some become something worse.

Probation

"We'll be watching."

Personnel on probation continue serving under increased supervision. Mission assignments become limited, AP Weapon usage may be restricted, and every decision receives heightened scrutiny from SRC auditors.

Nobody enjoys having an auditor assigned to them.

Especially the auditor.

Replacement Protocol

"Balance must be restored."

Following an Execution or other permanent cosmic removal, reality begins correcting itself. New individuals, new Resonance signatures, or entirely new cosmic structures may emerge to preserve the universe's long-term balance.

The Ancient Pillars maintain order.

Reality insists upon equilibrium.

Vaulting

"Contain the impossible."

The Sovereign Vaults are among the most heavily protected locations in existence. They do not serve as ordinary prisons. Instead, they house entities, artifacts, AP Weapons, concepts, and phenomena considered too dangerous to destroy and too unpredictable to release.

Within the Vaults lie:

  • Corrupted AP Weapons

  • Rogue Resonance constructs

  • Forbidden artifacts

  • Ancient anomalies

  • Reality-breaking objects

  • The occasional individual who should never again see daylight

Many enter the Vaults.

Very few leave.

Banishment

"You no longer belong here."

Banishment removes an individual from a realm, department, or state of existence without destroying them. Angels may fall from Heaven, demons may lose infernal privileges, and personnel may be permanently barred from Ancient Pillar service.

Unlike imprisonment, banishment offers freedom.

Just not where you wanted it.

Execution

"The rarest judgment."

Execution is the ultimate disciplinary action available within the Ancient Pillar system. Performed only through the Execution Protocol and only by the current Generational Leaders, it permanently severs an entity's Resonance signature from the cosmic cycle.

Executions are extraordinarily rare.

Entire eras may pass without one.

When one does occur...

the universe notices.

SRC Advisory 19-D

If you believe you have been disciplined unfairly, please complete Form AP-472-B, "Request for Reconsideration of Cosmic Justice."

Current estimated processing time:

One Ancient Pillar Fortnight.

Please do not attempt to accelerate processing through bribery, temporal manipulation, emotional blackmail, or summoning a Sovereign.

Previous applicants have tried all four.

Rights of the Accused

Even within the Ancient Pillar system, justice follows procedure.

Individuals under investigation generally retain the right to:

  • Know the charges filed against them.

  • Respond before final judgment.

  • Request review by the appropriate authority.

  • Appeal certain disciplinary actions.

  • Have all proceedings formally documented by SRC.

Appeals are encouraged.

Success is considerably less common.

Common Violations

Some of the most frequently cited offenses include:

  • Unauthorized Resonance manipulation

  • Mishandling AP Weapons

  • Negligent anomaly containment

  • Falsifying Golden List reports

  • Reckless use of Mesmermania

  • Interfering with assigned timelines

  • Improper contact with mortals

  • Unlicensed dimensional travel

  • Creating unnecessary paperwork for SAC

  • Ignoring direct Sovereign instruction

The last two are viewed with roughly equal seriousness.

Guiding Principle

The purpose of Ancient Pillar Justice is not revenge.

It is restoration.

Most punishments exist to protect the emotional infrastructure of the universe, prevent greater harm, and preserve the delicate balance maintained by the Ancient Pillars. Mercy is common. Accountability is expected.

The goal is never punishment for its own sake.

The goal is keeping reality operational.
