Officially, she is a pink Homo radians woman from Tariowick, but her proficiency in artificial shape‑shifting and synthetic Mimic abilities makes even that origin suspect. Her true face may be the least reliable detail about her.

Before the upheaval, Laos served as a low‑ranking assistant in the administration of former president Leonardo Bossilino. When Ubo Mensca seized power, he dismissed her as harmless — a clerical leftover from a fallen regime. Instead of eliminating her, he promoted her.

It was the most dangerous mistake he ever made.
