Emotamechs Guide
Welcome to the House of Emotions
rules

You’ve been dispatched by the Emotarium to restore a living House that is aging and losing power. This isn't a haunt—it’s a home that needs fixing, one outlet at a time.
The Core Loop: Route, Fix, Restore
The Goal: Route emotional energy through 102 hand-built Nodes across four floors—Basement, 1st Floor, 2nd Floor, and Attic.
The Mechanic: Match-3 tiles to clear Nodes, but watch your Stability (STB) and Energy (NRG) levels.
The Metaphor: Every mechanic represents a repair. Match tiles to clear frost from pipes, break bricks to represent structural damage, or clear dust to represent being forgotten.
Know Your Tiles (The Emotional Palette)
There are five core emotions—and they never mix outside their designated colors:
❤️ Heart (Red): Stability, Anger, Passion
💧 Drop (Blue): Flow, Sadness, Calm
⭐ Star (Gold): Clarity, Joy, Purpose
💨 Dash (Gray): Motion, Anxiety, Energy
🔥 Fire (Purple): Volatility, Fear, Intensity
Combat & Tools
Shapes: Draw patterns! Matching in lines, squares, or L-shapes creates power-ups like High Voltage or Star Bursts to clear the board faster.
Pairings & Fusions: Once the system unlocks, match different emotions to create pairings like Comet or Cyclone. Combine two power-ups for massive Fusion effects that can clear the entire board.
Your Tool Belt: Depending on whether you follow Arlo or Aria, you’ll unlock specific tools—like the Arlo Comp or Prudence Clipboard—to help you navigate the House’s most difficult terminals.
Stability & Hazards
The Drain: As you move from the Basement to the Attic, the House becomes more unstable, draining your STB meter each turn. Restore it with big matches and combos.
The Obstacles: Watch out for Frost, Brick, Dust, Webs, Chains, Momentum, and Pressure tiles. These represent the neglect the House has suffered over time—don't let them spiral out of control.
The Rules of the House
Readability First: Every board is locked at generation. Five colors, five emotions, no ambiguity.
No Ambush: Every system (NRG, STB, Tools) unlocks on a staggered schedule, accompanied by a cutscene. You’ll never see a mechanic you haven’t been taught how to fix.
The House Stays On: This is a cozy-mystery, not a horror game. Everything resolves toward warmth, not dread.
